Rethinking Center Sustainability and Funding Through Systems Thinking and Cross-Sector Partnering
University-based public service centers play a critical role in addressing complex societal challenges, yet many operate in fragile funding environments, dependent on a narrow set of grants and shaped by project-by-project support from local governments, community partners, and other external sponsors. Conversations about funding diversification often start through the lens of funding sources. This webinar helps center leaders take a more holistic, mission-grounded approach to sustainability and funding diversification by using systems thinking and partnership building across sectors.
Hosted by Saath Partners, Dr. Priyanka Brunese and Pallavi Gupta draw on their research and practical experience working with university centers, research consortia, and cross-sector partnerships to share perspectives and examples of how diverse partnerships can support more intentional research translation and compelling impact narratives - helping centers connect their work across stakeholders and shape more resilient, mission-aligned funding strategies.
This session is designed as a collective reflective starting point, instead of prescriptive solutions, for directors, associate directors, and senior staff navigating questions of growth, stability, and impact of public service centers within an increasingly complex environment.
